Why FenderRods?

The FenderRod and the FenderRods Companion eliminate the need to readjust your fenders each time you dock. Set the FenderRod line length one time in your existing fender, insert into your rod holders, and the fenders will always be set correctly each time you return to port. With the Companion, you utilize either your bow rail or cleat to have an always ready fender for mid ship and forward. Never again experience the frustration of having to set your fenders to the correct length to provide maximum protection for your boat’s hull.

Why can’t I make this myself?

• Two years of research, testing and development showed that while a “homemade” solution is doable, it is not necessarily viable. Problems include split/rotting wood, broken plastics (PVC), mold and mildew issues and lost fenders along with expense, time and effort that result in an inferior solution. Not to mention, the overall appearance and professional design of the FenderRod. Dollar for dollar the FenderRod composition and construction proves highly valuable while protecting your boat investment.

How many FenderRods come in a package?

• FenderRods come in packages of one (1) consisting of 12“x1” nylon rods, with either 24” or 36” double braid 3/8” nylon marine line. The Companion FenderRod is a package of one (1) as well.

What type fenders do FenderRods work with?

• FenderRods work with all type and size fenders: traditional (eyelets), center line thru, and bouy

What is the proper size fender for my boat?

• A good rule of thumb for choosing a fender/bumper for your boat is 1.5” in diameter for every 5’ length of your boat. Example- A 20’-25’ boat would use a cylindrical fender diameter of 6”-6.5”

How can I determine the proper FenderRod model needed for my boat?

• Our testing has shown the Model 24 fits most, if not all, boats 17’ to 28’ and that the Model 36 is best for boats larger than 28’.

• Fenders are NOT included.
